[CGI Application]

CSM's Student CGI Application

This server is setup to allow student to create and run their own CGI's (Common Gateway Interface) and SSI's (Server Side Includes). If you would like to use either CGI's or SSI's you must submit an application and agree to the our Conditions of Use. You will be held accountable for use and misuse of your CGI's, SSI's, and your login account. These conditions are very harsh if there is any abuse traceable to your account, whether you are directly responsible for the abuse or not. This basicly means, that if there is a significant problem traceable to your account, your CGI/SSI account will be permanently closed (second chances will be extremely limited). The problem is that poorly written CGI's and SSI's can compromise the security of this server.

To prevent problems: 1) have a good password for your account; 2) don't give anyone your password; 3) if you think your password has been compromised, change it; and 4) read and use the guidelines for good CGI and SSI programming.

In addition to ensuring the quality of your CGI's and SSI's, backup your critical files to another disk. This area is NOT backed up!

If you would still like a CGI/SSI account, fill in the following form, press submit, and print and sign the generated page. Bring this form to CT-156A for account activation. You will have to show a valid picture ID when you submit your application.
